Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless was arrested Saturday night for allegedly firing two shots in the air during an argument with some women in Miami Beach.
So as PFT’s Michael David Smith points out, the team’s statement on the matter is actually good news for the 26-year-old, albeit likely temporary good news.
Unlike the Patriots, who dumped linebacker Brandon Spikes on the first whiff of his hit and run news, the Packers are choosing to wait this one out until further details.
“We are aware of the matter involving Andrew Quarless and are in the process of gathering more information. We will withhold further comment,” the very brief statement read, per the team’s official website.
Quarless caught 29 passes for a career-high 323 yards with 3 TDs last season.
