Deflategate ball fetches $44K at auction

The only ball in the 2014 AFC Championship game that made it’s way out of the grasp of the NFL has been sold at an auction for a whopping $44,000, ESPN reports.

Auctioneer sold the ball on behalf of Laura Anthony, who was given the ball by New England Patriots WR Brandon LaFell after RB LaGarrette Blount scored a touchdown in the third quarter of their lopside 45-7 win over Indianapolis.

This was well after the whole halftime fiasco, where all games balls were inflated to the allowable levels by officials, but nevertheless, it’s a piece of history (I suppose).

Oh, what I could do with $44,000, rather than but a regulation NFL football.
