Per the MLB’s new rules aimed at speeding up the sometimes slow and painful game of professional baseball, just one week into the season has yielded a series of warnings to a few players – continue violations will result in fines.

Good luck to some players who just can’t break their routines at the batter’s box.

The new rules require batters to keep at least one foot in the batter’s box throughout an at-bat, and for play to resume promptly once broadcasts return from a commercial break.

According to an MLB spokesman, the league has sent 10 letters to players who have already violated the rules, warning them that they will be fined if the violations continue. ‘
