Back February, Oakland Raiders defensive back Nate Allen was driving around minding his own business when he was detained by police in his hometown of Fort Myers, FL after a girl reported a man masturbating in his truck.

Turns out police had the wrong man, and now Allen, who was immediately cleared of the crime, is taking them to court, reports TMZ.

Allen’s lawsuit claims the damage to his reputation was already done after news broke of the incident, and he wants the police to be held accountable. He’s hoping for a stroke of luck that the judge or jury takes his side (sorry couldn’t help myself).

His lawyer, Sawyer Smith, told TMZ Sports that “Allen wants to make sure no other citizens go through the horrible experience he did, that’s why he’s chosen to sue… he’s a fighter, and he’s going to stand up for this community and its residents to have a fair shake when they interact with law enforcement.”

The 27-year-old recently signed with the Raiders in free agency after spending five years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
