Former NHL defenseman and Arizona Coyotes radio broadcaster Nick Boynton has been arrested after becoming belligerent at the Buffalo Creek Casino early Thursday morning, and when police officers tried to subdue him, he allegedly bit one of them on the hand.
Boynton’s charges against him include assault and resisting arrest.
Per the Associated Press report, the 36-year-old became abusive toward patrons and security personnel at the casino.
Later, the team placed Boynton on leave.
AP: ‘Officials say Boynton remained in police custody at a Buffalo hospital Thursday night pending his arraignment Friday. It could not be determined if he has a lawyer…. Boynton joined the Coyotes’ broadcast team in July 2014 after an 11-season NHL career with six teams. He was in Buffalo for Thursday night’s game against the Sabres.’
