A mystery person strolled over to a window of NASCAR racer Kurt Busch’s garage at Daytona International Speedway and left some fresh ink invoking former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice’s own run-in with the law and domestic violence.
On Friday, a mere two days before the season-opening Daytona 500, NASCAR suspended Busch indefinitely after a judge said the former champion almost surely strangled and beat an ex-girlfriend last fall and there was a “substantial likelihood” of more domestic violence from him in the future, per the Associated Press.
Busch appealed the suspension on Saturday, but the 3-judge panel hearing it upheld NASCAR’s ruling.
His attorney Rusty Hardin said Busch will now go to final appeals officer Bryan Moss, who indicated he would hear it Saturday night. Stewart-Hass racing says they’ll go forward with plans for Regan Smith to replace him. Stay tuned.
