A scholarly Jacksonville, Florida resident who had two Lombardi trophies and the words ‘Back To Back Champions’ added to his original Seattle Seahawks tattoo says he has no regrets at all over the premature celebration of his favorite team winning their second straight Super Bowl.
Problem is, as you know, the Seahawks lost as QB Russell Wilson threw a pick to unknown rookie Malcolm Butler at the 1-yard line.
The brain trust simply known ‘OC,’ originally from Washington State, says he will keep the idiotic tattoo, etched into his flesh on Christmas Eve, anyway.
I guess its a great conversation piece if anything. (Ironically, another man sometimes called ‘OC’ – offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell is the man who called the fateful pass play rather than task RB Marshawn Lynch with punching it in for the victory). Sorta prophetic, isn’t it?
My, what it would’ve been like to be a fly on this man’s wall as the Seahawks defense collapsed in the 4th quarter, culminating in the Butler interception.
“I fell to the ground and put my head on the ground for about 30 seconds or something like that, I was just in shock,” he told The Huffington Post. “I feel like you only live once, you know? I knew that there was going to be consequences to me getting it, even before I got it and everything I just didn’t get it blindly …”
“I knew that there was a chance that they could lose obviously. But I’m going to keep the Seahawks tattoo … Hey, at least I did it. I took a chance. Sometimes though you take chances and you have the wrong outcome that you don’t think is going to happen.”
