In about six weeks’ time, horse racing fans in Europe and around the world will tune in to one of the first great racing festivals of the year. While we in the U.S. equate prestigious horse racing with events like the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes, the earlier months of the year bring about equally incredible races throughout the U.K. And first up is the Cheltenham Festival, which is held in March in the Cotswolds region west of London.
Like the major U.S. events, the Cheltenham Festival is a lot more than a collection of horse races. Races certainly take center stage, but the attractions and atmosphere around the Cheltenham grounds are what truly make the festival unique. Each day is packed with its own slate of events, themes, and races. And over the course of four days, that amounts to a wide variety of entertainment. For more detail on what differentiates the four days along with some of the festival’s highlights, check out this preview from Betbright.
