On Tuesday, the Baseball Hall of Fame announced that former Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez, along with Randy Johnson, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio, have been selected to the Hall of Fame.
Pedro received 91.1 percent of the 549 votes cast by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, well above the 75% required for induction.
The powers that be in Cooperstown were anticipating Pedro’s election into the pantheon of baseball immortals and have been hard at work preparing for a Jheri Curl stain-free red jacket ceremony on July 26th. The custom grease-proof coat is reportedly made out of a substance similar to raincoat material.
