On Wednesday afternoon, a Ross Township, PA motorcycle police officer pulled over a car driven by Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, the Associated Press reported.
Inside the car, the officer found fellow Steelers RB LeGarrette Blount and a female, along with a 20 gram bag of marijuana.
All inside the car claimed ownership of the drug, were arrested and later released. Bell, as the driver of the vehicle was taken to an area hopsital to have blood drawn. He’ll likely be charged with driving under the influence of marijuana.
All three are expected to receive notice of formal charges through the mail said Ross Township detective Brian Kohlhepp.
“We are aware of the reports and still gathering information,” said Burt Lauten, communications coordinator of the Steelers, who take on the Eagles Thursday night. “We will have no further comment at this time.”
