Nick Fairley’s ‘eating habits have got in the way these past two weeks’

fairleyDetroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley has reportedly become a shell of his former self.

Ok, more like a taco shell filled with a lot of meat and all the fixings.

The once serviceable Fairley has been relegated to backup status for a second straight week, playing second fiddle to journeyman C.J. Mosley.

“My eating habits have got in the way these past two weeks,” Fairley said, via the team’s official website.

Fairley says he’s gained 10 pounds; he’s now 315 and has been slacking in practice, according to reports. He’s also¬†been criticized for “poor” body language and has “isolated himself” from teammates.

“I don’t know where his head’s at. I wish I knew,” Mosley said. “If I knew, man, I’d grab his head and bring it back to where it’s supposed to be. I just don’t know.”

Ndamukong Suh: “I haven’t said this a lot, or to many people, more or less, but Nick is more athletically gifted than me… He has an opportunity to be better than me.”
