Jim Irsay wants to sign Ed Reed as a receiver?on November 13th, 2013 at 8:03 PM
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay – walk slowly away from the keyboard, smartphone, or whatever medium you use to communicate with normal people via Twitter… please, I’m begging you.
Crazy Jim is at it again with his Twitter account, this time teasing fans with an asinine question regarding the release of safety Ed Reed:
ColtsFans…Ed Reed signs, goes to WR,with limited special packages for WR plays; backs up safety n plays some role n return game/Yes-no?

Reed has been a safety for the entirety of his 12-year NFL career, so moving him to the other side of the ball is only logical, right Jimmy?
Sure, they could very well sign him, but as a safety, not anything else (Note: we think Irsay was making an attempt at humor?).
Per USA TODAY Sports: ‘Despite a swarming pass rush, the Colts’ secondary is lackluster. With eight interceptions, the Colts are ranked in the bottom third of the league in picks. Ed Reed has intercepted 61 passes, more than any other active player and 10th all-time.
Reed has connections to the Colts coaching staff, too. Head coach Chuck Pagano and secondary coach Roy Anderson both worked with Reed for years in Baltimore before heading to Indianapolis. Reed’s history with the coaches means they could look past his turbulent tenure with the Texans. They know what they are getting — and maybe how to use him.’
