Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was fined $15,000 for his late hit on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, but if it were up to right guard Alex Boone, he has a way more satisfying penalty for him.
“Probably punch him in the face,” Boone said. via CSNBayArea.com. “I don’t want his money.”
Boone’s candid response is in line with head coach Jim Harbaugh’s assessment of Matthews, who also scuffled with LT Joe Staley after the Kaepernick hit. “I could see two punches thrown to Joe’s head — well, one punch and one open slap, which . . . if you’re going to go to the face, come with some knuckles.”
