lebron-jamesMiami Heat superstar LeBron James is keeping true to his words about always being there to help out his hometown of Akron, OH.

This year, he’s taking care of his old high school, Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary School, with brand spanking new football uniforms just in time for the 2013 season.

Via Yahoo! Sports: ‘According to the Akron Beacon-Journal, the football uniform makeover was just a small part of his “I Promise Family Reunion” which he hosts annually at the Akron school. James’ foundation gives 700 area youth a full back-to-school kit — complete with bike, helmet, school uniform and backpack tags — after they complete a two-week pro-education camp. “I don’t really put a title on it,” James said of his charity for the school he once called home. “I do it because I have a passion. I do it because I want to do it. It’s not because someone came to me and said, ‘You should do this because you owe it to them.’ It’s something that was instilled in me to give back. This is my city, there’s 190,000 of us. For me to be one of the few to make it, it wasn’t hard at all.” ‘
