Jared Remy, son of former Red Sox player and broadcaster Jerry Remy, has been arrested in the stabbing death of his girlfriend, reports the Boston Globe.
Remy was arrested for allegedly assaulting Jennifer Martel on Wednesday, but was released on personal recognizance after statements from Martel. “The bail recommendation was based on a totality of circumstances,’’ Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan said.
He was arrested again Thursday at the scene of the murder, a Waltham, MA apartment the two shared with Martel’s young daughter, who is believed to have been at home when the stabbing occurred.
Remy, an admitted steroid user, was in the news back in 2009 after he and another Red Sox staffer were fired from the team after an investigation involving steroid use.
