Former New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Luke Petitgout has been arrested for allegedly hitting his wife and shoving her from their car in New York City, reports the Associated Press.
Police say Petitgout and his wife got in some sort of argument as they were driving early Friday morning when he pushed her out of the vehicle and threw a purse at her head. She took a taxi to a nearby police precinct to report the assault.
Petitgout surrended himself to the police at the same precinct. He was arraigned Tuesday night in Manhattan Criminal Court and released on his own recognizance.
Per the NY Daily News: ‘Petitgout and his wife of 13 years had spent the night out on the town and were in their car on Little W. 12th St. about 5:30 a.m. Friday when they got into an argument. Things got ugly after Petitgout accused her of cheating on him, a police source said.
As Jennifer Petitgout started to get out of the car, her 6-foot-6, 300-pound husband shoved her out of the door with the brute force he once used to protect Giants quarterbacks, the sources said. She fell onto the cobblestone street, scraping her arms, the sources said. ‘
