Former NFL receiver Chad Johnson, formerly the artist known as Chad Ochocinco, has been arrested after a warrant was issued for him last week on a probation violation stemming from his domestic battery incident with his former wife, TV reality star Evelyn Lozada, according to the Associated Press.
Johnson was booked Monday morning, but no word if he turned himself in or was found and arrested. At any rate, he was quickly released after posting $1,000 bail. He’ll return to court on June 3rd for a hearing, where he’ll explain why he didn’t report to his probation officer as required.
The six-time Pro Bowl player formerly known as Chad Ochocinco is serving a year of probation after Lozada said he head-butted her during an argument last August. She quickly filed for divorce. They had been married only since July 4. Johnson was released by the Miami Dolphins after the incident. He also played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots.
