Iowa State’s Willie Scott suspended after marijuana arrest

Word to the wise: when you’re high on the sticky icky and driving an automobile at night, make sure to drive carefully…

…and more importantly, turn on your damn headlights!

Iowa State defensive end Willie Scott found that out the hard way after a police officer stopped him for a headlight violation and was “able to smell the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle,” reports Alex Halsted of IowaStateDaily.com.

The officer also noticed a “green leafy substance located on his lap, consistent with the appearance of marijuana” when he approached the vehicle. After a search, a jar of weed was found and it was off to jail for Willie.

The ISU athletic department announced Thursday that Scott has been suspended indefinitely from the team.
