According to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, the Arizona Cardinals took a big blow when inside linebacker Daryl Washington was suspended by the NFL for violating the Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. He’ll take the first four games off to start the 2013 season.
A day after the franchise had received a huge boost by acquiring Carson Palmer; they lose perhaps their best linebacker for the first four games of the 2013 season. Rosenthal writes:
‘Washington is coming off a breakout season. Few linebackers possess his versatility. It’s an early blow to new coach Bruce Arians.’
He released the following statement via NFL.com:
“I was always taught that when you make a mistake, you admit it, learn from it and face whatever consequences there are. I take full responsibility and I understand that I let down my teammates, the organization and fans. I apologize for that and promise that no one will work harder to make up for it,”
