Hockey puck splits in two on goal during Swiss hockey league game

split puckIs a Swiss hockey puck like Swiss cheese?

During a game Saturday night, Cedric Botter of Fribourg-Gottéron fired a shot at the EHC Biel net and scored, reports Greg Wynshynski of Yahoo! Sports.

But wait, the puck split after it hit the left post, sending most of it into the goal. The other smaller piece bounced of goalie Reto Berra’s back and was swatted away into the crease.

It wasn’t ruled a goal, but maybe it shoud’ve, since most of it went into the goal. Question is, should it have been 1 point or may 0.75 of a point?
