High school football coach ‘will work for helmets’

Doug Bilodeau

Cash strapped North Marion High School in Aurora, OR is having a tough time scraping up funds for football equipment during their latest budget crunch.

They especially needed safe helmets for the team, because you know, helmets are important when playing football (those turn of the century leather helmets just weren’t cutting it anymore).

Head coach Doug Bilodeau’s joke about willing to “stand alongside a highway with a sign that reads ‘Will work for new helmets’ ” was apparently taken quite literally by his daughter, and she created a special sign for dad.

Bilodeau was so touched by the gesture that he took the sign out to the street and took a photo with it, reports KATV.
